With a simple mod I've also added the option of powering the Control8 via the midi cable - very handy! With my modified M-Audio 2X2 USB midi interface, I can use a wall transformer, or even the USB bus power. If a wall wart is plugged into the unit, the midi cable power is disconnected. I used the existing DC jack as it is a switching type. You need to cut a couple of tracks, though... |
I use this great little controller with my laptop to control Ableton Live, and with my WX5. I found that on gigs it was often dificult to see at a glance, which button was which - especially since I often have to set this up towards the rear of the stage. So I installed a little green LED for each of the five numbered footswitches. |
